Elkader, Ia. - William George Bente, 75, died at his farm residence near here, early Monday, after a lingering illness. The body is resting at the family residence, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Paul Kitterer, pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran church, officiating. Burial will be in the Mederville cemetery. The Haudenshield funeral home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Bente was born in Clayton county on Feb. 6, 1870.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Merritt (Ella) Alderson, at home; two brothers, John Bente, Waukon, Ia., and Sam Bente, Elkader; and one grandchild. He was preceded by his wife, one brother, one daugher, and one granddaughter.
