Mrs. William Hanson, oldest daughter of Henry Olson, now residing near Gunder, died at the hospital at Valley City, N.D., on Tuesday, Aug. 18, at the age of twenty-five years, one month and twenty-three days.

Mrs. Hanson had been in her usual health, when suddenly she suffered a stroke on Sunday morning. From this she recovered consciousness in the afternoon but went into a coma on Monday afternoon from which she never roused.

Myrtle Olson was born in this community on June 25, 1906. At the age of 3 her family moved to Luverne, Minn., residing there until 1922, when they moved to Sanborn, N.D. Here she was united in marriage to Wm. Hanson on Aug. 10, 1926, and settled on a farm there. To them were born two children, who now together with the grief stricken husband mourn the death of wife and mother. The two children are Raymod, 4 years old, and Arlene, 9 months old. Besides her husband and children there lives to mourn her death, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Olson, the six brothers, Harold, Richard, Elmer, Glenn, Vernon and Leonard, and one sister, Gladys, all of this community, also the grandparents, Mr. Halver Olson, and Mr. and Mrs. Nels Loftsgard, besides many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held in the home church at Sanborn, N.D., on Thursday forenoon, where the pastor, Rev. Oefstedal, officiated. The remains were then sent here for interment.

Funeral services were held from the home of Arthur S. Olson and the Clermont Lutheran church on Saturday afternoon, with interment in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. G. Gunsten officiated. The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the sorrowing husband and family. Blessed be her memory.

~The Clermont Enterprise, Thursday, August 27, 1931

~Note: her gravestone in East Clermont Lutheran cemetery spells the surname "Hansen" rather than Hanson
