STRAWBERRY POINT- Funeral services were here Monday for John Pfrommer, Sr., 72, who died at University hospitals at Iowa City Feb. 2 following a long illness: born Apr. 1, 1878, in Germany, foster son of Jacob and Anna Pfrommer: married Sarah Bertha Jopp Dec. 23, 1907, in Minnesota and to this union 11 children were born, 10 of whom survive; had lived in Strawberry Point 43 years and was a retired painter and decorator; wife, parents and an infant son preceded him in death; leaves six daughters, Gertrude Pfrommer, and Mrs. Harold Kragenbrink, Strawberry Point; Mrs. Fabio James Forester, Mrs. Wallace Hartwig and Mrs. Donald Chevalier, all of Strawberry Point; Four sons, John Jr., Sheffield, Ill.; Fred, Herbert and Arthur, all of Strawberry Point; a foster sister, Mrs. Louis Baumgartner, Strawberry Point; two half-sisters, Mrs. Tom Madden, Littleport; Mrs. Martin Wiley, Elkader; two half-brothers, Paul Kafer, Littleport; Frank Kafer, whereabouts unknown.
