Elgin - Lester E. Gehring, 90, died Sunday morning, June 11, 1995, in Good Samaritan Home, Postville, after a long illness. Services: 2 p.m. tuesday, Illyria Community Church, rural Elgin, by the Rev. Judy DeWeber. Burial: church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Muehlethaler Funeral Home, Elgin, and after 1 p.m. tuesday at the church.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis; a son, Robert of Marengo; four stepdaughters, Virginia Lammert of Orange City, Marjorie Kohler of Sarasota, Fla., Pat Schultz of Mason City and Shirley Deverell of Las Vegas; and a stepson, Ray Herwig Jr. of Cedar Rapids.
