Postville Review, Sat., 19 July 1890.
At her residence near Luana, at 9 p.m., July 14th, Mary, wife of E. B. Lamborn, aged thirty-eight years, eight months and 5 days.
Heart disease in one of its worst and incurable forms was the cause of her death, and she had been near death's door several times the past ten years.
Mrs. Lamborn was a lady of many rare and admirable qualities of mind and heart, which greatly endeared her to a large circle of relatives and friends.
The funeral services were held on Wednesday last at 10 a.m., in the open air at the family residence, Rev. Bowder, of Lansing, formerly of Luana, preaching the discourse. A very large audience was present, and the casket was covered with elegant floral offerings. The father of the deceased, Mr. Vankirk, and a daughter, residing near Chicago, were present, but had not been able to arrive in time to see her alive. She leaves a husband and three children, the youngest a babe of but four months.
