8 May 1944, Elkader, Iowa, Funeral services for Warren Samuel Boots were held last Thursday afternoon at the Witt funeral chapel with Rev. George Richter officiating. Burial was made in the Eastside Cemetery.

Warren Samuel Boots was born in Elkader, Iowa, Aug. 20, 1868, and died May 8, 1944, after an illness of several months.

He was married to Augusta Alitz July 6, 1891, and to this union were born nine children, four sons and five daughters, of whom eight children are living, one daughter, Mrs. Blanche Erickson, having preceded her father in May 1940.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Augusta Boots; four daughters, Effie, Mrs. Arthur L. Kramer of Elkader, Marie, Mrs. George A. Edwards of Minneapolis, Minn., Jessie, Mrs. David E. Hoover of Elkader, and Bessie, Mrs. Jens B. Jensen of Battle Creek, Mich.; four sons, Ira Boots of Waterloo, Samuel Boots, Jr., of Des Moines, Clarence Boots of Dubuque, and Ramon Boots of Elkader, who is now in the service of his country at Pearl Harbor.

Mr. Boots is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Sylvia Dibble of Seattle, Washington, and Mrs. Nettie Holstensen of Edmonton, Canada. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. James Boots, one sister, Mrs. Jennie Mosby of Elgin, and two brothers, Ira Boots of St. Paul, Minn., and Charles Boots of Seattle, Washington.

Funeral services for Samuel Warren Boots, 75, who died Monday, May 08, following several months' illness, will be held at the Witt funeral chapel at 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon. The Rev. George Richter will officiate, and burial will be in the East Side cemetery.

Of the surviving sons and daughters, all were able to attend the services with the exception of Ramon Boots, who is at Pearl Harbor.

Out of town relatives and friends who attended the funeral were Samuel Mosby, Mrs. Leo Schori, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Mosby, all of Elgin; Mr. and Mrs. Vance Maha, New Hampton; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Hulbert, West Union; Mrs. A. F. Record, Lone Tree; Mrs. Henry Johnson, Pleasantville, and Mrs. Lloyd Gee, Des Moines.
