Joyce Lucille Schultz

Joyce Lucille Schultz, 84, of Farmersburg, died Monday night, August 12, 2002 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, WI. She was born June 7, 1918, in rural Wadena, Iowa, to Burt and Margaret (Fennel) Everett. Joyce attended rural country school.

Joyce worked at Elkader Dry Cleaners, Cowie Studio, sold cosmetics for Luzier for many years, ran Kuehl's Tavern with Realto for 16 years, received her G.E.D. and went on to get her Certified Medical Assistant degree and worked at Scenic Acres for 13 years until her retirement.

She was united in marriage to Realto Kuehl in May 1939. Two children were born to this union. Realto died May 3, 1990. In November 1994, Joyce married Emil Schultz.

Survivors include her husband, Emil, of Farmersburg; her children, Jolene Kuehl of Monona and Jeff (Carmelita) Kuehl of Elkader; two step-sons, Bob (Shirley) Fosdal of Luana and David Fosdal of Summertown, TN; four grandchildren, Kelly Beatty of St. Olaf, Kirk Vigen of Elkader, Eric Vigen of Dubuque, Jason Vigen of Monona; two step grandchildren, Brekka Fosdal of Guttenberg and Heather Fosdal of Tennessee; 13 great grandchildren; one brother, Francis (Agnes) Everett of Marion and 2 sisters, Betty Grief of Hopkinton and Helen (Donald "Toby") Gienapp of Anamosa.

Joyce was preceded in death by her first husband, Realto Kuehl; her parents; 7 brothers and sisters, Leo Everett, Gladys Timmerman, Gerald "Rusty" Everett, Velma Gienapp, Alberta Ehrhardt, Harley Everett and Paul Everett.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 16, 2002 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Elkader, with Rev. Paul R. Peters. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Casket bearers were Jim Shaw, Rick Gienapp, Dave Ehrhardt, Joel Everett, Don Timmerman, Ron Timmerman.
