Mr. Haefner was of the type of pioneer now fast disappearing - a man honest in all his transactions with his fellow men, a man who will be long remembered for his sterling qualities.

Mr. Haefner became a member of the M.E. church in 1857, and during his long an duseful life has always been constant in its teachings.

Four children remain to mourn his death - L.H. of Bainville, Montana; W.H. of Castalia; Mrs. Wellemeyer of Garner; Miss Tillie at the Giard home; also 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and many friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday p.m. conducted by Rev. Menzer and Rev. Wolff. Interment was in Giard cemetery.
