Mrs. Lena Louise Brown Hayes---Obit. The death of Mrs. Lena Louise Brown Hayes occurred on Tuesday, March 20, 1923, at 1:30 PM. at her home in this city, at the age of 46 years, 3 months and 14 days.

Lena Louise Nuehring was born near Clarksville, Butler Co., Iowa, Dec. 6, 1876. In 1897 she became the wife of Edward P. Brown. She later was married to C. Hayes who survives her, as does one son, Levi Brown of this city, one daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Strother of Eldora, her aged mother and several sisters and brothers.

The funeral occurs today at St. John's Luth church and conducted by Rev. E. Lehne. Interment in City Cemetery.

This took place in the city of Guttenburg, Clayton County, Iowa.
