Mr. Jonathan Goodwin, of Volga Bottom, who has been lying sick for sometime, is dead.

Another old pioneer has gone to his long home. Jonathan Goodwin died on January 29th, at his home near Volga City, aged 74 years.
He settled near this place in 1852, and has resided here ever since. He was an honest, upright man, a hard worker and one who always attended to his own affairs.
He was born in Newberry, Vermont; was a member of the M.E. church, and died in the faith that all is well.
He leaves a wife, five sons and two daughters. The funeral occurred on Sunday, Rev. T. E. Fleming, assisted by Elders Whitferd and Brown officiating.
