RITES HELD FOR ANN BARABOO
Word was received here last week of the death of Ann Steele Baraboo on August 23, 1953 at her home in Santa Barbara, California. Requiem mass was celebrated at San Roque Church on Wednesday, August 26, 1953 with burial in Calvary cemetery.
Anna Barbara Walch was born August 8, 1882 in Clayton county, the daughter of Sebastian Walch and Margaret Peters. She was united in marriage to Joseph A. Steele on April 30, 1907. To this union was born one daughter, Margaret. Mr. Steele passed away in 1929.
In 1940, Mrs. Steele was married to Theo. J. Baraboo of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin and resided in that community until a year ago when they went to California to make their home.
Surviving besides her husband, is her daughter, Margaret Thoma (Mrs. N. F.) of Phoenix, Arizona; a grandson, Robert Thoma of Phoenix; a sister, Mrs. Margaret Werges of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and one brother, Henry, of Los Angeles.
The deceased taught music for many years in the Monona vicinity; later in life she operated a beauty shop in Monona. She was always active in church and club work.
