Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, November 3 [1972]at St. John Lutheran Church, Farmersburg, for Alice Knudson who died at Central Community Hospital, Elkader, October 31. The Rev. David Heck officiated. Burial was
in the Norway Lutheran Cemetery at St. Olaf.Alice Haltmeyer Knudson was born July 8, 1896, in Boardman Township. October 6, 1917, she was united in marriage to Hanford O. Knudson of St. Olaf. Shortly after her marriage she joined the Norway Lutheran Church, and after moving to Farmersburg became a member of St. John Lutheran Church.
After the death of her husband, Mrs. Knudson did practial nursing for over 30 years, until ill health caused her to retire.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Haltmeyer.
Surviving are her three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Dorothy) Corlett; Mrs. Hale (Marjorie) Corlett, Jr. both of Farmersburg and Mrs. M.J. (Norma)
Moore, Riceville; also seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Faye Keeley of California; Mrs. Edna Kliefoth and Mrs. Walter (Irene) Blazek, Farmersburg and a brother, Ervin Haltmeyer, Postville, also several nieces and nephews.source: old newspaper clipping
