CRIST, CHRIST, PENHOLLOW, DRAKE, MANCHESTER, SCHRUNK, GRAYBILL, FERRIS, BROWN, MEYER

Funeral services were held for Louis Christ, 66, Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Goshen church at Millville. The Stafford Funeral Service of Strawberry Point was in charge. Burial was in the Millville cemetery.

Mr. Christ was born May 8, 1874, at Rock Island, Ill. During the first few years in Iowa he was employed in the R.R. shops at Oelwein. Later he was engaged in farming. His wife preceded him in death a few years ago.

Mr. Christ passed away at Independence at 8:30 a.m. Friday, may 17, at the age of 66 years and 9 days. He leaves to mourn one daughter, Mrs. Will Manchester, Jr., of Strawberry Point.

Obituary - Mr. L.H. Crist
Funeral services were conducted at the Goshen Church near Millville, Ia., Sunday, May 19, 1940 at 2:00 p.m. who passed to his reward on May 17, 1940.

Lewis Hubert Crist, son of Nathan Crist and Mattie Drake was born May 8, 1874 at Rock Island, Illinois and passed away after a lingering illness at the Independence Hospital May 17, 1940, at the age of 66 years and 9 days.

He was married to Mary Ellen Penhollow of Millville, Iowa on Nov. 1st, 1902 at West Union, Ia. To this union was born one child, Martha, who is now Mrs. William H. Manchester of Arlington, Ia.

Those who are left to mourn his loss are Mr. and Mrs. Manchester, grandchildren, namely Darlene, Mary Ann, Beulah May, Wm. Lewis and Ronald. Also one cousin Will Drake of Dunkerton, Ia.

His wife preceded him in death on Decc. 26, 1932.

The first part of his married life was spent in Oelwein, Ia., and vicinity. The casket bearers were: Fred Schrunk, Kenneth Graybill, Fred Ferris, Arthur Brown, Chas. Meyer and Ed. Meyer.
