Yvo Earl Scheffert

Funeral services for Yvo Earl Scheffert were held Monday, May 18, 1987, 11 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, Luana. Rev. Ted Ager officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Schultz's Funeral Home, Monona was in charge of arrangements.

He died Friday, May 15 at Lutheran Hospital, LaCrosse, Wisconsin.

Yvo Earl Scheffert was born January 25, 1911, in Garber, Iowa. His parents were Irwin and Olivia Heitman Scheffert.

He was baptized in Garber and confirmed in 1936 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Monona. He received his education in the Luana school.

He married Vivian Schroeder January 24, 1934 in the Lutheran Parsonage in Monona. They had six sons and three daughters. Yvo farmed and worked for the Luana Creamery. He also was a carpenter. He retired in 1968.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one son, Robert; and three brothers, Virgil, Lionel and Irwin.

Surviving are his wife, Vivian; five sons, Delbert, Luana, Ronald, Ely, Burdette and David, Oelwein and Stanley, Hazleton; three daughters, Mrs. Frank (Yvonne) Palmer, Des Moines, Pat Lumbus, Oelwein and Mrs. Arno (Josephine) Schlitter, Luana; 19 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Earl, Monona, Orland, McGregor and one sister, Mrs. Lawrence (Ilo) Wentz, Luana.

Pallbearers were sons, Delbert, Ronald, Burdette, David and Stanley, Arno Schlitter and Frank Palmer.

Yvo Earl Scheffert was born Jan. 25, 1911, in Garber, Iowa, to Irwin and Olivia Heitman Scheffert. He was baptized in Garber and confirmed in 1936 at St. Paul Lutheran Chuch in Monona. He received his education in the Luana school.

On Jan. 24, 1934, Yvo was united in marriage to Vivian Schroeder at the Lutheran Parsonage in Monona. To this union six sons and three daughters were born. Yvo farmed and worked for the Luana Creamery. He was also a carpenter, retiring in 1968.

Yvo died Friday, May 15, 1987, at Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, WI.
