A large company of friends and relatives were in attendance at the funeral Saturday afternoon of Mr. Daniel Claudy who dropped dead on Wednesday of heart failure.

Mr. Claudy was born Sept. 27, 1851 in Cumberland county, Pennsylvania, the oldest of a family of seven children. When twelve years old following the death of his father, he came to McGregor with his mother and brothers and sisters. McGregor had been his home continuously since.

For the greater part of the time he was engaged in the truck gardening business here and with great success. Three of the finest gardens near McGregor today were made by him.

Mr. Claudy leaves a wife and six daughters, Mrs. L.F. Sanderson of Moneta, Iowa; Mrs. J. Pollock of Dennison, Iowa; Mrs. Joe Bergemeyer and the Misses Ethel, Olive and Marjorie of McGregor, and a son Oscar Claudy of Corwith, Iowa.

Among the out of town relatives in attendance at the funeral were Mrs. Mary Dow, a sister from Plankington, S.D.; and Mr. Sam Davis of Nora Springs, a brother of Mrs. Claudy.
