SERVICES HELD FOR MRS. F. EBERLING
Mrs. Fred C. Eberling (Eva Elizabeth Fisher) passed away suddenly of a heart attack on May 20, 1957, at her home.
She was born July 28, 1871 in Clayton, the daughter of Adam Fisher and his wife, Barbara Arett. At the age of one, she and her parents moved to a farm south of Postville. She lived in and around Postville for the rest of her life, with the exception of four years spent on a farm near Austin, Minnesota.
She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church, and was a faithful member of her Church until the time of her death. She was married to Fred C. Eberling at Blooming Prairie, Minnesota on October 26, 1897.
Preceding her in death were her husband, a step-daughter, her parents, two brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her children, Addie, Mrs. John P. Gahagan of Austin, Minnesota; Jennie, Mrs. Robert Goldsworth of Cushing, Wisconsin; Harold of Hot Springs, Arkansas; Eli C. of Nashua; Bernice, Mrs. Clem Waters of Postville; Verni of Rockford; and one step-daughter, Ellen, Mrs. Archie Mohs of Denver, Colorado. In addition to her children, she is survived by two brothers, Sam of Austin, Minnesota and Eli N. of St. Paul; 21 grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and many relatives and friends.
Services were held in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church on Thursday, May 23, at 2:30, with the Rev Charles E. Witt, pastor, officiating.
