HERBERT H. LENTH
Herbert H. Lenth was born Dec. 18, 1902, south of Luana, IA, to parents John and Dorthea Harnack Lenth. He died Sunday, Sept. 2, 1990, at Great River Care Center in McGregor where he was a resident since Nov. of 1989.
He was baptized Dec. 28, 1902 and confirmed April 16, 1916 in the Lutheran faith in Luana. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He served as president of the Farmersburg school board and on the church council at St. John Lutheran Church in Farmersburg and St. Paul Lutheran Church, Monona.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Lenora, who died Feb. 18, 1982; one daughter, Arlene Sedlmayr; 6 brothers, Gus, John, Wilbert, Elmer, Ernest and Louis; 3 sisters, Ella, Esther and Hilda.
Surviving are 2 grandchildren, one sister, Nora Haberichter of Monona.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 5, 1990, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Monona at 11 a.m. with Pastor Harold O. Ward officiating. Organist, Florence Evans. Burial was in Farmersburg-Wagner cemetery, Farmersburg, IA.
Pallbearers: Marlyn Henderson, Tom Grady, Richard Becker, Ray Mielke, Nile Kruse, Wayne Sedlmayr and Lester Henderson.
Honorary Pallbearers: the nephews.
Schultz's Funeral Home in Monona was in charge of the services.
