Word was received here today by relatives that Raymond Corkery, recently reported missing, has been killed in action. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Corkery of Boardman township, and the sympathy of the entire community go out to the bereaved parents in their deep bereavement.

Memorial Mass In Honor Elkader Boy
Special to the Times-Journal
Elkader, Ia., -- Feb. 15. -- On Wednesday morning at 9:30 a memorial mass was celebrated in honor of the memory of Raymond Corkery, who was killed in action on Nov. 6. The services were attended by a large crowd in spite of the inclement weather. The church was decorated in the national colors and the returned soldiers of Clayton county marched in a body.

Mrs. White rendered very beautifully "Abide With Me," also an offertory solo. This gives to St. Joseph's Church its first gold star.
