Last Rites For Ruby E. Farmer
Ruby Elaine (Trudo) Farmer, 81, died Tuesday, July 17 at the Good Samaritan Center in Postville.
Ruby Farmer was born April 16, 1898 on a farm 12 miles southeast of Postville, the daughter of Ormus and Hulda (Beucher) Trudo. She was baptized and confirmed in the Marion Lutheran Church in Gunder. Ruby was united in marriage to Lee Farmer at Elkader April 7, 1921. To this union two children were born. Lee and Ruby farmed in the Postville and Clermont areas. On February 8, 1975, Ruby suffered a stroke and has been a resident of the Good Samaritan Center.
Survivors include her husband, two children, Mrs. Phelman (Dorothy) Peterson and Jim, both of rural Postville, six grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, one sister, Edna; two brothers, Elmer and Vern; one son-in-law, Phelman Peterson and one grandson.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 20 at 10:30 a.m. at the Schutte Funeral home in Postville. The Rev. Dennis E. Morey officiated. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.
