Laid to Rest
Erick Ostegaard, who passed away at his home four miles north-east of Elgin, March 1, 1923, was laid to rest in the Houg cemetery Monday afternoon. He had been ill for several months and grew weaker gradually until life robbed and nature's last great debt was paid. He was seventy years of age and had lived a Godly life, being a consistent church member and worker. For many years had been a resident in the community where he died and was well and favorably known to a large circle of neighbors and friends.
Deceased is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Osborn Olson and Mrs. Chris Holm, another daughter, Mrs. Albert Thorson, having preceeded the father in death; and one son Nels Ostegaard, together with many relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, conducted by Rev. Gunsten of Clermont and many attended to pay a last sad tribute to one they had known and honored in this life.
