RAYMOND EARL BREWER
Raymond Earl Brewer was born April 1, 1919 in Grand Meadow Township, Clayton County, Iowa. He was the son of Harold and Claire (Cooney) Brewer.
Raymond was baptized at St. Bridget's Catholic Church, Postville and confirmed at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Clermont, Iowa. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Monona.
He attended the Grand Meadow #5 school and one year at the Postville High School.
He farmed with his father and later with his brother-in-law and sister, Mildred and Harold Trappe. Eleven years ago he moved to Monona. His death came Friday, February 1, 1985 at Central Community Hospital, Elkader, after being in ill health for some time.
Preceding him in death were his parents and his sister Mildred Trappe.
Surviving is a brother Lavern of Metuchen, N.J., and two sisters, Mrs. Keith (Rose Marie) Smith of Postville, and Mrs. Grant (Patty Lou) Karriker of Brookfield, MO, nieces and nephews and many friends.
Services were held Monday, February 4, 1985 at 11:00 a.m. St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Monona, with Father John Moran officiating. Pallbearers were Carl Brewer, Michael Krambeer, Brent Frankenhoff, Phillip Smith, Donald Bacon, Norbert Holly, Jim Trappe, Leo Vlazny. Burial will be in the Postville Cemetery. Schultz's Funeral home was in charge of services.
