Funeral services for Robert E. Wacker were held Saturday, August 28, 1999 at 10:30 a.m. at First Lutheran Church, McGregor, Iowa. Pastor Ruth Ann Shriver officiated. Pallbearers were Franklin Wacker, Jr., Larry Joe Wacker, Gene Walter, Harold Henning, Brian Henning, Dustin Henkes, and Kent Toberman. Burial was in the Farmersburg-Wagner Cemetery, rural Farmersburg, Iowa. Schultz Funeral Home of Monona, Iowa was in charge of services.

Robert Edwin Wacker, son of Frank and Anna (Krieg) Wacker, was born July 13, 1930 in Boardman Township, Elkader, Iowa. He was baptized August 11, 1930 and confirmed March 25, 1945. He graduated from Elkader High School in 1949. Robert was united in marriage to Evelyn Henning on November 28, 1951 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Farmersburg, Iowa. They farmed in Farmersburg Township for 10 years. They lived in Strawberry Point, Iowa for 15 years, being employed as a meatcutter and at Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin where he operated a rug weaving business. He enjoyed gardening and fishing on the Mississippi River.

Robert died Tuesday, August 24, 1999 at the Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin Memorial Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Donald Wacker, Jack Wacker, Joe Wacker and 1 sister, Louise LaVon Walter.

Robert is survived by his wife, Evelyn; a son, Roger Wacker (Betty) of Winnebago, Illinois; a daughter, Sharon Wacker of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 2 grandchildren, Jennifer Wacker and Brad Wacker; a brother Franklin (Pat) Wacker of Elkader, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Pat Wacker also of Elkader, Iowa; and a brother-in-law, Lester Walter of Shullsburg, Iowa.
