Iowa Deaths - Manchester - John George Brockmeyer, 94, lifelong resident of the northeast part of Delaware and Clayton counties, at his home at Wood, in Clayton county, Monday, after a lingering illness; body was brought to the Platt funeral home here and funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Trinity Methodist church near Wood, with burial in the church cemetery; born in Rippen, Hanover, Germany, Dec. 25, 1850, Mr. Brockmeyer came to the United States at the age of 14; located first at Colesburg, Ia., and later bought a farm near Wood, which he operated until his retirement; married Maria Hildebrant at Edgewood Feb. 28, 1888; leaves widow and 10 children, Mrs. Ella Friedley, Mrs. Erma Totman, Mrs. Cora Wessell, Harold Brockmeyer and Mrs. Mildred Wessell, Edgewood; Mrs. Grace Moser, and Clarence Brockmeyer, both of Manchester; Ben Brockmeyer, Strawberry Point; Ernest Brockmeyer, Oelwein; and Mrs. Lula Gramlich, Lansing.
