Funeral services for Edna Evelyn Klotzbach, age 79, of Monona, Iowa are set for today, Wednesday, December 29 at 11:00 a.m. at the Garden City United Methodist Church in Monona with Rev. Dennis Gilbert officiating. Thornburg-Hanson Funeral Home in McGregor, Iowa is charge of the arrangements. Burial will be in the Council Hill Cemetery in Clayton County, Iowa.

Edna Evelyn, was born December 27, 1920 in Linton Township, Allamakee County, Iowa. She was the sixth child of 8 children born to John Benjamin and Mabel (Henkes) Schlitter. She worked as a clerk in a hardware store, worked as a secretary for Dr. Fields, telephone operator in Monona, Iowa, and was a cook at Wyalusing Academy in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. On June 26, 1940 she married Gerald Klotzbach. They were the parents of one son.

Edna Evelyn Klotzbach died Friday, December 24, 1999 at Memorial Hospital in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin following a long illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gerald who died January 11, 1982, a brother Melvin Schlitter who died June 18, 1984 and her sister, Delores Mae Wilkins Owens who died August 3, 1999.

Edna is survived by her son Gerald "Jerry" (Julie) Klotzbach, Jr. of New Brighton, Minnesota 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; 3 sisters, Ethel Strelow of Volney, Iowa, Helen Mielke and Marie Mount, both of Monona, Iowa; and 2 brothers, Elmer Schlitter of Farmersburg, Iowa, and Donald Schlitter of Monona, Iowa.
