Funeral services were held Friday, June 13, at the Baptist church at Elgin for Mrs. Caroline Miller who died Tuesday morning, June 10, at the home of a nephew, Walter Germann. The pastor, Paul F. Zosche, officiated, and music was furninshed by the male quartet composed of Carl Hackmann, Gus Krueger, Karl Miller and Harry Johnson. Pallbearers were six nephews, namely, Richard, Lloyd, Walter, Lester, Elmer and Lorenz Bigler.
Caroline Bigler was born January 5, 1870, in Clayton county, a few miles south of Elgin, and died at the age of seventy-one years, five months, and five days. Her education was that which was available at that time. She was united in marriage in 1887 to Felix Miller, who with two brother and two sisters, preceded her in death. Surviving are her son, Louis Miller, Waukon, three grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
