The sudden death of Frederick Baumgartner occurred at the home of his brother, Alexander, east of town on December 28. In years past deceased had been bothered with rheumatism, but this winter was feeling better than usual. On the day of his death he had been out in the yard helping the boys with some work. He returned to the house, got his razor and had just started to shave when the summons came. He was raised from the floor where he had fallen by his brother, but it was plain to see that the spirit had fled. Fred Baumgartner was fifty years of age at the time of his death and leaves to mourn two brothers, Alexander and Adolph, and one sister, Mrs. Thos. Hanson, besides many relatives and friends. Interment was made in the Apostolic cemetery.
