Appleton Lovett, a former resident of this vicinity died at his home in San Berdino, Texas, Tuesday February 21, 1928. His remains were brought to Colesburg for burial in the family lot in the Brown cemetery. The burial took place Saturday and was attended by a large number of friends.

Appleton Lovett was born near Elkport in Elk township in the year 1851. On Nov. 7, 1873 he was married to Margaret Hansel, a sister of John L. Hansel and Squire Hansel and up to the year 1912 they lived near Elkport. In the year 1912 they moved to Ellendale, N. D. The deceased has many friends here who sympathize with the afflicted family in the death of the beloved husband and father. May he rest in peace.
