James Lewis Eno

James Lewis Eno, 66, St. Olaf, Iowa, died Monday, December 20, 2010, at the Guttenberg Care Center in Guttenberg, Iowa. He was born on May 7, 1944, in Postville, Iowa, to James and Florence (Risch) Eno. He attended Eno Country School thru the 3rd grade. Then he attended Postville School and graduated in 1962. He attended Iowa State University. During high school, James was a member of FFA and obtained the degree of Iowa Farmer. He was also a member of the Grand Meadow 4-H club.

James was united in marriage to Janice Hoth on May 21, 1976, in Burlington, Iowa. He worked for many years as an independent contractor for Iowa Turkey Products and also farmed the home farm near Luana. He was a long time Farm Bureau member and served on the board of directors for Clayton County. He was the president of the Pleasant Valley Mini Pullers Club and a board member of the Clermont Heritage Club.

Survivors include his wife, Janice Eno; five step-children, Beverly (William) Rodenberg, Garnavillo, David (Angela) Hoth, Postville, Arlene Monroe, Monona, Teresa (Neil) Cleary, Des Moines, Darrell (Becky) Hoth, Eagle, ID; eighteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, John Eno, Luana and first cousin, William Eno, Luana.

He was preceded in death by his parents and step-granddaughter, Melissa Hoth.

Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the Norway Lutheran Church in St. Olaf, Iowa, with fellowship following the service. The Rev. Marshall Hahn will officiate.

Burial will be held at a later date.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2010, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Norway Lutheran Church in St. Olaf, Iowa, before the memorial services.

Schutte-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Postville, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements.
