Hervey William Dahlstrom

Hervey William Dahlstrom was born April 3, 1898, the son of William and Mina Dahlstrom at Farmersburg. He attended grade school at Farmersburg and the first two years of high school at Elkader.

He was married to Mahelia Mahnke on March 15, 1922, at Monona, Iowa.

He served as postmaster at Farmersburg and was also employed as a carpenter and a mechanic.

Hervey was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Farmersburg, Iowa.

He died on April 10, 1972, at the age of 74 years and 7 days.

Hervey Dahlstrom is survived by his daughter, Dorothy, Mrs. Robert Gronlund, four grandchildren, Gaye, Robin, Gregg and Jamie, all of Tampa, Florida, and is also survived by one brother, Earl, of Elkader, Iowa.

Funeral services were held Thursday, April 13, at St. John Lutheran Church in Farmersburg. Rev. David Heck officiated.

Pallbearers were Harley Palas, Art Burrack, Carroll Oelke, Mike Reardon, Bill Scherf, Frank McNichols, Kenneth Kaehl and Ed Busch.

Burial was in the Farmersburg & Wagner Cemetery.
