Services Held for D. Hass
Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 28, 1977, at the Garden City United Methodist White Church for Mrs. Harlan Hass, who died on July 26, 1977, at the age of 49 years, 9 months and 15 days.Rev. Raymond Pacholke officiated. Mrs. Justus Kammer was the organist. Music was also provided by a quartet consisting of Mr. and Mrs. Jackson Turner and Mr. and Mrs. Tom James. Pallbearers were Richard Moses, Larry Peters, Dan Tyler, Larry Levenhagen, John Wachter Jr., and Kent Wiedenmann. Burial was in the Monona City Cemetery, New East Side.
Dolores Jean (Peters) Hass, daughter of Elmer and Ruby (Levenhagen) Peters, was born October 11, 1927, in Linton Township, Allamakee County, Iowa. She passed away at the Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, Wis., on July 26, 1977, after a lingering illness.
She received her education in the rural schools of Monona and also the MFL school from which she graduated in 1945. She also attended Luther College in Decorah, and then taught school in the rural schools around Monona.
Dolores was baptized in the Watson Evangelical Church on February 5, 1928. She was an active member of the Pilgrim Evangelical United Brethren Church of Monona and then a member of the merged Garden City United Methodist Church of Monona, Iowa. She was very active in the women's work of the church and also taught Sunday School. Her guidance and leadership will be sorely missed.
She was united in marriage to Harlan Hass on October 25, 1947, and there were four children born [clipping may be cut off here]
Surviving are her husband, Harlan; two sons, Steven and Rick, McGregor; one daughter Linda, at home; her mother, Mrs. Ruby Topel, Monona; two brothers, Robert Peters, Farmersburg, and William Peters, Colesburg; and one sister, Mrs. Milton (Gloria) Klema, rural McGregor.
Funeral services were held Thursday at the Garden City United Methodist Church, Monona, with burial in the Monona City Cemetery. The prayer vigil was held at the Schultz Funeral Home, Monona.
