Funeral services for Louis Hungerford, for many years superintendent of schools at Volga, will be held at Volga Methodist church at 2:30 p.m. Thursday. He died Friday while visiting his son, Dr. Louis Hungerford, at Seattle, Wash.
He was a World War I veteran and a graduate of Upper Iowa University at Fayette. Survoviors include two sisters, Mrs. Helen DeLong, Fayette and Mrs. Irving Patridge, Maynard; his son, a daughter, Mrs. Ingvar Larson, Houston, Tex. (formerly of Fayette), a twin brother, Lawrence, Rockford, Ia., and three other brothers.
There will be a 10 a.m. service Thursday at Marengo methodist church. Burial will be in the Volga cemetery.

Volga - Services for Louis Newell Hungerford, Sr., 74, will be held thursday at 2:30 p.m. in the volga Methodist church. Mr. Hungerford, who served as superintendent in the Volga schools for 19 years, went to marengo in 1944, where he was school principal until his retirement a few years ago. He died Friday in Seattle following a heart attack.
His wife, the former Mary Buebner of Burlington, died in 1946. Survivors include a son, Dr. Louis N. Hungerford, JR., of Seattle; one daughter, Mrs. Ingvar (Emily) Larson, Houston, Texas; seven grandchildren, and a brother, Ted Hungerford of Cedar Rapids.
The Hoover funeral home at Marengo has charge of the arrangements. The body will arrive by train Wednesday at Marion. Brief services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Hoover funeral home before the body is brought to Volga.
