Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Schutte Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. to St. Paul's Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. for Mrs. Asbjorn Morch, who passed away Saturday at her home following a lingering illness.
The rites were in charge of Rev. Charles E. Witt, pastor of St. Paul's. Burial was in Postville cemetery.
Senda Bertha Gericke, daughter of Johann and Maria Geborn (Klinge) Gericke was born on May 22, 1893. She passed away on August 29, 1953 at her home, after a lingering illness.
She was baptized August 27, 1893 and confirmed in April 1908 by Rev. R. Kuhne. She was married on January 21, 1919 to Asbjorn Morch of Postville in St. Paul's Church.
She is survived by her husband and four children, (Jeleen) Mrs. Millard Bilden of Postville, Leo Morch of Postville, (Rosemarie), Mrs. Walter Foels of Decorah and Herbert at home; 13 grandchildren; one brother, John Gericke, of Postville; four sisters, Mrs. Ida Meyer, Mrs. Otto Sander, Mathilda Gericke and Mrs. Amanda Sebastian.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, William, Fred and Henry Gericke and one sister (Bertha) Mrs. Wendel Wagner.
Mr. and Mrs. Morch made their home on a farm northeast of Postville until 1945 when they moved into town.
She was a life-long member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Postville, and a member of the Women of the Church group.
