McGREGOR, Iowa -- Theresa Lahey, 91, of McGregor, died Saturday, June 5, 2010, at Central Community Hospital, Elkader.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 8, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, McGregor, with the Rev. Richard Gaul officiating and the Rev. Dale Rausch concelebrating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

She was born on May 9, 1919, in Luxemburg, daughter of John and Catherine (Pottebaum) Rausch. She attended Holy Trinity School in Luxemburg.

She married Donald Lahey in 1939. The couple farmed in the Lamont and Masonville area until they moved to McGregor. He preceded her in death in 2001.

Theresa was a member of St. Mary's in McGregor, where she was also a member of the Rosary Society. She and Donald did much volunteering at the church.

Theresa was known for her great hospitality. She also enjoyed their winters in Florida, helping with planning and harvest, and having lunch with all her good friends.

Surviving are her two sisters, Emma (Arnold) Walz, of Monona, and Adelaide (Lawrence) Bildstein, of Dyersville; a brother, Merlin (Joanne) Rausch, of Guttenberg; a sister-in-law, Myra (Joe) Raush, of Dyersville; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She also was preceded in death by her parents, John and Catherine Rausch; step-mother, Anna (Knipper) Rausch; and 10 siblings, Catherine (Al) Hoffmann, Anna Mae Fisher, Armella (Peter) Hoffmann, Edmund (Marie) Rausch, Joe (Clara) Rausch, Jack (Mildred) Rausch, Peter (Marie) Rausch, Marie (Emil) Lucas, Francis and Mary Magdalen Rausch, in infancy.
