Brent A. Hackett, age 36, of Harpers Ferry, Iowa, died Sunday, June 13, 2004, as a result of an auto accident in Allamakee County, Iowa. Funeral services were held Thursday, June 17, 2004, at St. Mary's Church in McGregor, Iowa, with burial in St. Pius Cherry Mound Cemetery, rural Harpers Ferry. Thornburg Hanson Funeral Home, McGregor, was in charge of arrangements.

Brent was born November 14, 1967, in Prairie du Chien, Wis., to Donald and Trudy (Ferguson) Hackett. He graduated from Mar-Mac High School and attended college in Calmar, Iowa. He married Becky McMillin on September 17, 1988, in McGregor. Brent farmed and also worked as a switchman for the railroad.

Survivors include his wife, Becky; four children, Brittney, Danielle, Regan, and Haley; parents Donald and Trudy Hackett of Marquette, Iowa; two brothers, Brad (Janet) Hackett of Independence, Iowa, and Chad (fiancee Rachel Jones) Hackett of McGregor; and maternal grandmother Thelma Ferguson of McGregor.
