Stanley Theodore Sargent
Funeral services for Stanley Theodore Sargent, 71, were held at the First Methodist church, Monday afternoon, Feb 10, with the Rev. Robert L. Smith conducting the services. Burial was in the Strawberry point cemetery.
Stanley T. Sargent was born at Strawberry Point Sept. 15, 1886, the son of Emery Harford Sargent and his wife, the former Julia O. Waite. He received an elementary school education and served as a private in the U.S. Army in World War I. He never married and was well known in the area as a farmer and breeder of purebred livestock. Since his retirement he made his home with his brother, Ralph, in Strawberry Point. His health failed in the last few years and he was hospitalized at times with a heart condition. He died at his home about 6:00 a.m. Saturday, Feb 8.
He is survived by five brothers and two sisters. They are Harford G., Elwin F., Paul and Ralph of Strawberry Point, and Emery Sargent of Lamont; Mrs. LaVera Fink of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. C. C. (Gladys) Kimpston of Strawberry Point. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Leon L. Sargent.
