Motel Operator Passes Away
Mr. Karl H. Glawe, owner and operator of the Garnavillo Motel, passed away on Dec. 27, following a short illness. Mr. Glawe was a patient at the Central Community Hospital in Elkader.
Funeral services were held on Dec. 30 at Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Zerhusen officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Gerald Reimer, Eugene Johnson, John Hauschild, James Whitley, Albert Hughes, Jr., Vernett Halvorson and Edward Koehn.
Karl Glawe is survived by his wife, Ida Belle, one son Kenneth of Marion, two grandchildren, his father, and a sister, Mrs. Eldo (Helen) Johnson of Elkader.
Mr. Glawe was born on Nov. 21, 1919, in Read Township, the son of Charles J. Glawe and Ella Ihde. He was married to Ida Hughes on May 31, 1931.
