Funeral services for Almar Gulsvig, 42, were held in the Marion Lutheran Church on Monday, April 8, with the Rev. Henry Mathre officiating. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery with the Schutte Funeral Home in charge.

Almar Emil Louis Gulsvig, son of Mrs. Emma Gulsvig and the late Emil Gulsvig, was born on November 23, 1920 in Marion township, Clayton county, Iowa and died in an automobile accident, south of Luana, on April 4, 1963 at the age of 42 years.

He was baptized into the Christian faith on January 2, 1921 and confirmed on September 1, 1935 at the Marion Lutheran Church at Gunder. He was married on June 15, 1946 to Arlene Lauer of Eldorado. To this union was born a son, Gene, and a daughter, Linda.

They lived on the home place near Gunder where he farmed for several years. Later, he was employed by Fred Groth of Postville until his death.

He is survived by his widow, Arlene; two children, Gene and Linda; his mother, Mrs. Emma Gulsvig; two sisters, Violet (Mrs. Victor Fiskerbeck) of Ruthven, Iowa, and Mae (Mrs. Tillman Thompson) of Postville; three nieces, Elizabeth Fiskerbeck of Mankato, Minnesota, Ardis Fiskerbeck Christen of Austin, Minnesota, and Becky Thompson of Postville; one nephew, Jerry Thompson of Postville; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his father and one sister, Ethel.
