Funeral services for Mrs. John Riddiogh, 77, of Vinton, Iowa, were held last Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Schultz Funeral home with the Rev. Harvey W. Raduege of Pilgrim Evangelical church officiating, and at the Fry Funeral home in Vinton, at 10 o'clock in the morning with the Rev. William Butler officiating. Burial was in the Monona City cemetery.
Mrs. Riddiough died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clarence Ingels, south of Vinton, Sunday evening, Nov. 21, 1943, at 5:50 o'clock after a lingering illness.
As Nellie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Smith, she was born at Marlborough, New Hampshire, May 28, 1863. She was married in New Hampshire August 29, 1883, to Alvin S. Olmsted. They moved to Monona, where Mr. Olmsted died in 1918. On September 5, 1924, she was married to Robert Fagan, three years after moving to Vinton from Waterloo. Mr. Fagan died in 1929. She was married Oct. 29, 1933, to John Riddiough, who died in 1940.
Mrs. Riddiough was a member of the Methodist church.
Nine children were born to her marriage to Mr. Olmsted, five of whom died in infancy. A daughter, Mrs. Harriet Shadle, died recently. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Mary Rinker and Mrs. Ingels of Vinton; one son, Alvin S. Olmsted, Jr. of Royal Oak, Michigan; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
During the services in Monona, Mrs. Ben Freese provided the music with Mrs. K. W. Rash, accompanist. Pallbearers were: O. C. Entwisle, A. F. Kaiser, H. S. Rittenhouse, H. C. Fox, Fred Siglin, and H. H. Smith.
