Carrie Francis Nelson

Funeral services for Carrie Francis Everett Nelson were held Tuesday, April 18, 1989, 2 p.m. at the Aase Haugen Home, Decorah. Rev. James Dale officiated. Burial was in the Monona City Cemetery, Monona. Schultz's Funeral Home, Monona, was in charge of arrangements.

Carrie Nelson, daughter of Harvey and Susan Rogers Everett, was born December 12, 1905 in Wadena, IA. She was baptized in the Methodist faith. She spent her childhood in the Fayette county area.

On October 16, 1926 she married Carl Nelson at West Union. The couple had 2 children. They retired from the farm in 1961 and moved to Monona where they lived for 21 years.

In 1982 they moved to the Aase Haugen Home in Decorah where Carl died Nov. 30, 1985. Carrie died April 15, 1989 at the Winneshiek Memorial Hospital in Decorah.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Carl; one brother, Sidney Everett and an infant sister, Marie Everett.

Surviving is a son and daughter-in law, Roy and Beverly Nelson of Decorah; a daughter and son-in-law, Evelyn and Ernest Kyle of Fairfield, IA; 4 grandsons; and 2 brothers, Stephen Everett, Lakeview, AR and Richard Everett, Waterloo.

Pallbearers were Stephen Nelson, James Miller, Richard Kyle, Richard Miller, David Schierholz and William Gentz.

Honorary pallbearers: Eric Kyle, Ernest Kyle and Roger Miller.
