Obituary - Northeast Iowa Times - Jan. 29, 1931, Pg. 4 (McGregor Public Library)
DIES LAST WEEK: Funeral Services held from St. Mary's church Friday
Frank McMillin, a well-known farmer and esteemed citizen of this community, passed away Wednesday, January 21 at his home in Sni Magill (McGregor, Iowa), after a prolonged illness. He was born at Knapp's Creek, Crawford County, Wisconsin on February 4, 1862, the oldest son of Andrew J. and Filinda Adney McMillin. At the age of four years he came with his family to this section of Iowa, which has since been his home. In those early days he experienced the usual privations of the hardy pioneers settling a new country. All the years of his youth and man-hood were spent in this locatlity, where his life was an open book, a record of upright living and square dealing with his fellow man.

In November, 1904 he was united in marriage with Miss Catherine A. Riley at the Catholic Church in McGregor. At this time he joined the Catholic faith and has always been a consistent and practical member. Those who remain to mourn are his wife and three children; Francis of Elkader, Donald and Mary at home; also three brothers and two sisters, Sherman of McGregor, George of Prairie du Chien, Harvey of Belle Plaine; Louisa (Mrs. Julia Sweet) of McGregor, and Maria (Mrs. Albert Barker) of Prairie du Chien, besides a number of nieces and nephews. One sister, Etta, and his aged parents preceded him in death some years ago.

The funeral was held Friday, January 23 from the home to St. Mary's Church. Father Horsfield officiated at a requiem mass. Burial was made in St. Mary's cemetery, the casket being borne by six nephews; Elmer, Clarence, Glen and Herbert McMillin and John and Edward Riley.... Relatives from a distance who were present were Mr. Harvey McMillin of Belle Plaine, Mrs. and Mrs. Wade Rozelle of Vinton, Iowa; Mrs. Albert Barker; and Mr. George McMillin of Prairie du Chien.
