VIOLA IDA FERGUSON

Viola Ida Ferguson, the daughter of Ed and Mathilda Abel Scheffert, was born September 14, 1896 in Monona Township. She received her education in the area schools. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. On March 30, 1916 she was united in marriage to Elgie Ferguson at her parents home. To this union one son Eugene was born. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a dear friend to many people. She died Monday, January 3, 1983 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, Iowa, having reached the age of 86 years, 3 months, 19 days. Preceding her in death were her parents, her sister Angeline Goltz and four brothers, Vern, Alvin, Elmer and Orlando. Surviving is her husband Elgie, her son Eugene of Waukon, four granchildren, Sandy Mielke, Eugene D., and Pat Brainard all of Monona and Mike of Marion, Iowa, seven great grandchildren.
