Mr. John F. Timmerman died at his home near North McGregor, Ia.
He was born in Kubstorf, Germany, Dec. 18th, 1838. Came to this country 37 years ago, settled near Madison, Wis., for two years, and from there moved to North McGregor, Ia., and in 1888 moved on a farm near North McGregor, Ia. He was married to Miss Sophia Stalt in 1866. Five sons and one daughter were born to this union, one dying in infancy, who preceded him to the grave, he leaves to mourn, his wife and five children who are: Wm. of Watson, Ia., Charley, near North McGregor, Mrs. Geo. Frohwein, of Monona, Ia., Herman, of St. Paul, Minn., and Henry at home. The last four years he made his home with his son, Charley Timmerman and had been in poor health for several years.
Mr. Timmerman was a hard working man, honest upright in all his dealings, always willing to help others.
The funeral was held in the Lutheran church at McGregor, Ia., by Rev Rader. His children all being present. The remains were intered in Oakland cemetery. Those who were present at the funeral from abroad were Herman Timmerman and wife of St. Paul, Minn., Geo. Frohwein and wife of Monona, Ia., Carl Prehn of Madison, Wis., John Lewis and daughter Erna, of Garnavillo, Ia., Herman Waskow of Monona, Iowa.
