Mrs. Timmerman Funeral Rites Held
Funeral services for Mrs. William Timmerman, 66, were held Tuesday afternoon from the home at 1:15 o'clock to Pilgrim Evangelical church at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Harvey W. Raduege officiating.
Burial was in Council Hill cemetery.
Mrs. Timmerman died Saturday morning, Jan. 20, at 9 o'clock as a result of a stroke. She had been seriously ill for the two weeks preceding her death and confined to her bed for the last week when she suffered paralysis of the right side from a stroke.
She was born the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Witt, Aug. 23, 1878, in Kottschon Kriest, Lavanburg, Germany. In 1900, when she was 21 years old, she came to America. She was married to William Timmerman Sept. 27, 1900.
She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Herman Topel, Mrs. William Ferguson, and Mabel Timmerman, all of Monona, and Mrs. Martin Bechtel of Waukon, eight sons, Henry, Grover, Harry, Herman, Theodore, and Frank of Monona, Fred of Detroit, Mich. and Willis in the United States Army now serving in France; three sisters, Emma, Ida, and Mattie; two brothers, Theodore and Ernst; and 23 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, who died in 1941 and one sister, Martha.
Music at the church service was provided by a quartet composed by Miss Mabel Reidel, Miss Marjorie Schlitter, David Schlitter, and Harlan Hass, accompanied by Mrs. Raduege.
Pallbearers were: Christ Levenhagen, Fred Levenhagen, Mike Jermier, Conrad Schlein, Henry Krueger, and A. A. Schlitter.
