Allison Lee Fuelling

Funeral services were held for Allison Lee Fuelling on April 19, 2004 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Monona, Iowa with interment at Gooding Cemetery, rural Farmersburg, Iowa. Leonard Funeral Home, Monona, was in charge of arrangements.

Allison Lee Fuelling, 76, died Friday, April 16, 2004, at the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital, Guttenberg, following a short illness.

He was born on July 25, 1927, in Farmersburg to Edward and Effie (Henkes) Fuelling. Allison was baptized on October 13, 1927, at Garnavillo by Rev. Braun and was confirmed on April 7, 1946, in St. John Lutheran Church, Farmersburg, by Rev. R.H. Steege. He attended Eno Country School through the eighth grade.
He was united in marriage to Mary Ann Kalke on Januay 14, 1952, at Zion Lutheran Church, Clayton Center. Five children were born to this union, Jeanne, John, Pat, Jim and Bill.

Allison farmed near Farmersburg until he retired, moved to Farmersburg for twelve years, and then moved to Monona. He collected caps and toy tractors. He enjoyed his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Allison liked to visit with neighbors; friends and he had a kind heart for everyone. He especially enjoyed his visits with his buddy Freckles.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann, Monona; his children, Jeanne (Joel) Brown, Elkader, John (Becky) Fuelling, Monona, Pat (Boe) Echard, Monona, Jim (Julie) Fuelling, Luana, Bill (Sue) Fuelling, Monona; seventeen grandchildren; seven grandchildren; one sister, Evelyn (Dr. Joseph) LaManna II, Dallas, TX; his mother-in-law, Miranda Kalke, Monona; one brother-in-law, David Kalke, San Bernardino, CA and many friends. Allison was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Carle, LeRoy and Robert.
