Myrtle Glesne

Funeral services were held for Myrtle Glesne at 11:00 a.m. January 24, 2004 at Peace United Church of Christ, Elkader, IA, with interment at East Side Cemetery in Elkader, Iowa. Leonard & Leonard-Muller Funeral Homes & Crematory were in charge of arrangements.

Myrtle was born in Highland Township, Clayton County, Iowa, to Christian K. and Julia (Ruroden) Houg. She was baptized at Highland Lutheran Church and confirmed at Norway Lutheran Church. In 1934, she was united in marriage to Raymond O. Glesne in Galena, Illinois.

Survivors include her three sons, Ronald (Gloria), The Villages, Florida, John (Eve), Golden, Colorado and Eugene (Judy), Omaha, Nebraska; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; four brothers, Tilman, Vernon, Millard and Carl; and three sisters, Selma (Moon), Lillian (Tayek) and Juliette (Olson).

She was a member of Peace United Church of Christ and a 50-year member of Order of Eastern Star and of Royal Neighbors of America.
