GUTTENBERG, Iowa -- Mathilda Katherine "Tillie" (Miller) Gull, 95, of Guttenberg, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008, at the Guttenberg Care Center.

Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Guttenberg, with the Rev. Marvin Bries officiating. Burial will be in Hansel Cemetery, rural Garber. The Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 207 S. 1st, Guttenberg, is in charge of arrangements.

She was born on Dec. 14, 1912, in Guttenberg, daughter of Charles and Margaret (McNish) Miller. Tillie graduated from the St. Mary's Catholic School (she was the oldest living alumni).

On July 13, 1944, she was united in marriage with John "Jack" Gull in Chicago; he preceded her in death.

She served her country as a Naval secretary during World War II, and owned and operated the Gull Jewelers for many years.

She was a member of the Guttenberg Library Board, Guttenberg Book Club and enjoyed reading, traveling and playing cards.

Surviving are two granddaughters, Michelle and Travis Geuder, of Guttenberg, and Marcia and John O'Neill, of New York; two great-granddaughters, Noelle Katherine and Katy Mathilda; and a son-in-law, Mark and Lana Gratace, of Prairie du Chien, Wis.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Kathy; a sister, Rita Hansel; and a brother, Willard Miller.
