Garber: Services for Augusta Anna Marie Thein, 87, were held at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Elkport, Ia. Thursday January 13, 1977. Burial was in Mt. Harmony Cemetery, Elkport. Pastor Osterlah officiated.

Mrs. Thein, a resident of Garber, died January 11, 1977 at the Riverview Care Center in Guttenberg. She had been ill for four years.

A daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hildebrand, she was born November 10, 1889, in Volga Township. She was a lifetime resident of Clayton County, having lived in the Garber and Elkport rural areas.

She was educated in the grade school of her community. On December 14, 1910, she was united in marriage to John Thein at Elkport. John died in 1967.

Surviving are four children; Lorraine S. Thein, Littleport; Mrs. Lloyd (Ulina) Johanningmeier, Edgewood; Mrs. Lowell (Angeline) Lindenberg, Elkader; and a sister, Mrs. Carrie Stahl, Geneseo, Ill.

Besides her husband she was preceded by a son, Elvin Thein in Sunnyvale, California.
Pallbeares at her last rites were: Lawrence Thein, Hubert Thein, Lowell Thein, Don Thein, Henry Thein and George Hagensick.
