Michael Otto Russow

Michael Otto Russow was born June 14, 1882 at McGregor, Iowa. He was the son of Fred and Mary Schaepers Russow.

He married Winifred Rollins February 17, 1904 in Farmersburg Township. In 1941 they moved to Rockford, Illinois, where his wife died March 17, 1970.

Mr. Russow was an automotive mechanic until his retirement in 1950. He died July 28, 1978 in St. Anthony Hospital, Rockford, Ill.; reaching the age of 96 years, one month, and 14 days.

Survivors are one son, Roy of Rockford; three daughters, Mrs. LaVern (Muriel) Beaty, and Mrs. Willard (Mildred) Carlbom both of Rockford, and Mrs. Walter (Joyce) Carlson of Colorado Springs, Colorado; six grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. One daughter, Hazel Gibbs Bock, preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 1, at 2 p.m. at the Schultz's Funeral home with Pastor H. J. Knoploh officiating.

Pallbearers were Harold Vogt, Laverne Krambeer, Rueben Raymond, Oscar Carlson, Keith Carlbom, and David Russow.

Burial was in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, McGregor, Ia.
