Louis McNally

Funeral services for Louis McNally were held Wednesday, November 25, 1998, at 2:00 p.m. in St. Paul Lutheran Church at Postville, Iowa. The Reverend T. M. Marks officiated. The Schutte Funeral Services of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.

Louis L. McNally, the son of Richard and Flora (Ziegler) McNally, was born March 9, 1906, on the family farm three miles north of Gunder, Iowa. He died Sunday, November 22, 1998, in University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics at Iowa City, Iowa. He had reached the age of 92 years, eight months and 13 days.

He was baptized in St. Peter's Catholic Church at Clermont, Iowa and confirmed on April 18, 1954, in St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville, by the Reverend Charles Witt. He attended the rural school near his home. On June 20, 1940 he was married to Lucille Krambeer in St. John's Lutheran Church at Luana, Iowa. To this union two children were born, Twila and Terry. They farmed in the Postville area. Louis was proud of his Irish heritage. He loved to dance and had enjoyed good health up until the last seven years.

He is survived by his children, Twila and her husband, Wayne Schroeder and Terry McNally and his wife, Kaylene, all of Postville; five grandchildren, Larry Schroeder and his wife, Kathy, of Owatonna, Minnesota, Mark Schroeder of Overland Park, Kansas, Craig Schroeder and his wife, Stacy, of Coralville, Iowa, Melissa McNally and Mandi McNally; two great grandchildren, Zachary Schroeder and MacKenzie Schroeder; a brother, Leo McNally and his wife, Violet, of Postville and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lucille, who died in May of 1980, three sisters, Elsie Trudo, Mae Krambeer, and Rose Mork, and three brothers, Richard J. McNally, Wallace McNally, and Floyd McNally.

Louis was a member of St Paul Lutheran Church in Postville.

Casket bearers were William Miene, Jr., William Egeland, Robert Dull, Wayne Miene, Kurt Miene, James Miene, Gerald Guyer and James Farmer.
