Wed. May 15, 1991 Guttenberg Press.. Irvin Niehaus Rites May 15 at St. John- Services for Irvin Niehaus, 79, of Guttenberg will be conducted by Pastor L. R. Lechner at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, at St. John Lutheran Church.
Mr. Niehaus died Sunday May 12, 1991 at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital. Visitation was at the Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home.
Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, rural Guttenberg with the following pallbearers; Rick Hinzman, Duaine Davis, Dennis Koehn, Roger Wettleson, Sidney Clefisch, and Richard Clefisch.

Irvin George Niehaus was born Jan. 29, 1912 in rural Guttenberg, a son of Edward and Elizabeth (Geuder) Niehaus. He was married at St. John Lutheran Church on Nov. 8, 1939 to Lorene Clefisch, who survives. Mr. Niehaus lived in Dubuque from 1945-1976 where he was employed as a carpenter. He was a member of #678 Local Carpenters Union for 49 years. He retired in 1975 and moved to rural Guttenberg the following year.

Surviving besides his wife, Lorene, are two sons, Russel of Chula Vista, Calif., and William of Ventura, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Don (JoAnne) Doehrmann of Williamsburg, Iowa, and Nancy Swenson of Clute, Texas, and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
